Oh, this is an entry for Xanga. I can't bear to lose Xanga forever. There's too much sentimental value!

I saw Mr. Marine today! He is graduating in the summer. I got his e-mail address!

UAH! He is just TOO CUTE!

Ah...yeah, I guess that's all I wanted to say.

All You Musician Types

I started teaching piano at KellyMusik, a Kindermusik studio next to my favorite boba place which is next to Chase. Kelly Chen, the teacher, has such a huge studio that she has asked me to take the students she doesn't have patience to handle. Eventually, I'm supposed to get a Kindermusik certificate and then take over the Kindermusik classes so she can teach more advanced students.
Yesterday I taught Douglas, 9 years old, and Lydia, also 9. Both have younger siblings who also play the piano. Both of their younger siblings are good little kids (hen ting hua). I get to teach the ones who are at a contrary age.

Douglas yawns a lot. He's easily bored. I make him do jumping jacks when he stops playing notes correctly to try to get the blood pumping through to his brain. But in general he's a good kid. I like Douglas. He reads notes well and plays loudly. He needs to develop control in the fingers of his right hand, which is kind of unusual, but maybe he's left-handed.

Lydia and I started the beginning of the first lesson very well.  I thought she liked me, and she seemed very bright. Then her cunning little mind decided to test me. When I asked her to play again, one too many times, tears started rolling down her little cheeks.
"What's wrong?!" I asked, shocked and appalled. "Did something happen in school? Do you not like me?"
Lydia didn't say anything. She hid her face in her hands, looked at her mother, SMILED, sobbed, whined like a hungry kitten, and made my hour miserable.
At the end of the lesson, she seemed to calm down. "Miss Chen said that if I like the song, I will try my best, but if I don't like it, I won't try hard."

She's trying to get me through appealing to a higher authority.

When I told Kelly, she just laughed. "It's ok, just keep at it. You're very patient."

Goong

Goong, why do you keep doing this to me? Why do I still follow you, you awful manhwa? Everytime a new chapter is released on www.onemanga.com, I cannot stop myself from reading it. But it's just talking and angst and misunderstanding. It's so BORING and SENTIMENTAL and PATHETIC!!!

But I have to keep reading it. GOONG translators, hurry up and finish the rest of the chapters! This whole misunderstanding/sexual tension is becoming too much to handle! MOVE ON with the story already!!!!

In other news, I've been thinking about moving to Tumblr forever.

I've unofficially been accepted into the internship program. All that's left is a background check, which shouldn't be a problem.

Anyway, I went to Artwalk in downtown for the first time. The number of hipsters in tight jeans, fedoras, and arty bohemian tops or flannel was astounding. I think almost every hipster in Los Angeles was present at the event. Even one of the galleries featured a bunch of paintings of hipsters. Talk about pleasing your audience! It was pretty nice seeing downtown so full of people, and the art was fun to look at.

Hipster trends in LA:

1) fedoras. LOTS of fedoras. Especially the kinds with tiny brims. Both guys and girls, young and old, were wearing these smart hats.

2) turbans/headwraps on girls

3) 18th century military inspired coats on men. I saw one guy in gray coat-tails!

4)  Bikes are hip. Skinny jeans and bikes are hip.
